Kutschera writes that he photographed Kosrat Rassul in Erbil in 1991 together with Jalal Talabani. His accompanying note describes Kosrat as a PUK political bureau member with a reputation for bravery and states that he led PUK fighters during the battle for Kirkuk in March 1991. This is useful as a journalist-photographer's retrospective identification of his own period photographs and observations.
